I just finished up a quick little drum edit for The XX ” Shelter. ” I feel like after doing that yeah yeah yeah’s remix, I’m sort of destined to make mellow remixes of softly sung female indie rock. Anyway here you go. You can check out the original track here and grab my remix down there.
The XX seem to be a mysterious band made up of London youngsters playing very simple indie duets. Their almost Interpol like use of dramatic empty space and silence in their tunes is refreshing, given the current trend in most music today. Here’s a cool video of theirs, take note of the double MPC work going on. I’ve included a track for download, it’s called ” Islands ” and reminds me allot of the whitest boy alive, and less of seasoned french fries, or the actual islands.
