BASS

CAUTION: ULTRA LOW BASS MAY DAMAGE SPEAKERS

Inspired by a friends ridiculous bass flooded Toyota and early August I started sifting through the gang of bass tunes I have. It’s been a tough sift and hard to settle on just the right jam but I think I got it.

The classic Miami Bass sound of the 80s at one point spawned into the sub genre *ahmm of ultra low frequency music called Car Audio Bass. Techmaster PEB was a pioneer focusing his production more on air displacement than party jams and had a golden touch for naming records. It Came From Outer Bass, Bassgasm, Bass Computer, and It Came From Outer Bass II are my faves.

Off of ICFOB II is a killer track called Phonz that sounds like the grandfather of Skream’s Midnight Request Line, which actually, it is. Techmaster’s production at those low frequencies is amazing, sometimes bouncing but more often solid and slow to change. Enough hi end and mids to keep the track moving but nothing gets in the way of that bass.

I’ll go ahead and tell you now, if you listen to this on laptop speakers or iPod headphones your doing it WRONG. If you play this on Funktion 1 hollar me and I’ll be there.
