Paul Iannachino, production and remix dynamo from the days when def jux was def jux and men were men, is apparently making a movie.  Intriguing!  The preliminary site appears to be here…

Boy He Geeked Up

One of the first things a friend mentioned to me when I moved to Seattle is if I had ever seen the documentary Streetwise, which I hadn’t but by his description of the movie it became something I became obsessed trying to find for a while. Once discouraged from a quick search on Netflix and finding out that it was out of print, my hunt lost momentum and I somehow my mission was forgotten. But a recent discovery on YouTube yielded a full upload of the entire film in 10 (!) parts (shout out to the dude that uploaded this and also that awesome 1970s KFC commercial).

Streetwise documents the lives of young runaways that fled to Seattle in the early 80s, and follows the kids through their bouts with drugs, prostitution and rivalry. Shit is kinda long, and not something you could really watch at work. But flag the post and return to it after you’ve gotten stoned and have an hour on the couch.

All 10 parts post jump.

The Greatest Movie Never Made

Kubrick nerds behold, the massive Taschen book that chronicles the insane pre-production notes, photos and final draft of the film that never made the light of day, Napoleon. Originally slated to come out right after 2001: A Space Oddyssey, Kubrick began researching Napoleon Bonaparte and in the process amassed a ridiculous catalogue of over 15,000 location photographs and 17,000 related images of the general that has been curated into one big ass book. Notes, correspondence, visual boards, and even the final draft of the screenplay are all here, documenting the creative process of Stanley Kubrick’s vision for an epic study on Napoleon that was to have grandiose battle scenes with thousands of extras.

Ultimately shelved by MGM because they felt that historical films had lost popularity within the general public in the early 1970s, film buffs and cinefiles alike can rejoice at the latest opportunity to take a look inside the mind of Kubrick’s obsession with Napoleon Bonaparte.

WOLF SUITS!

Where The Wild Things Are X Opening Ceremony

I’m always down for animal oriented outer wear. Jams and I were just chatting the other day about horn implants and other changes it would take to become a minotaur. He said he’d get the horns if I’d get a split snake tongue , I told him no go but look out for some BR excess in the future.

“Well, you’ve all been waiting for ‘em, asking for ‘em, emailing about ‘em… so here they are : WOLF SUITS! And not just any wolf suits, beautiful high end wolf suits brought to you in collaboration with our friends over at Opening Ceremony. The slideshow above represents a small taste of the full WTWTA x Opening Ceremony line which will be available via OC WEB on Monday. Guaranteed to sell like crazy. ” – WTWTA
