for the last couple months i’ve been djing some little raves in san bernardino, anywhere from 500-1000 shitty 16 year olds. promoters are pretty cool dudes, i show up go straight to the stage, dj, get paid, and go straight back to my car. i’m probably not gonna be doing these anymore.
anyways, i’ve never really had a chance to see what kind of crowd i’ve been playing to. i fished around and found some amazing photos.

How I didn’t know of this before or find this before is beyond me. And I’m not sure how many of these are anywhere near true, but I’d hire the writers if they’re fakes.
I like that they’re recent too, more relatable, not like watching America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1994, VHS doesn’t speak to me anymore.
Must reads: “15 Nov 2009 – chi – To my ex-husband…” and “26 Oct 2009 – min – Sex duel with the neighbors.” Feels like you’re reading a dirty novella or watching a twisted telenovela.
My Norcal bros over at Solid Bump tipped me off to these awesome drum sample collections, both featuring live drums, multisampled, and mic’d through preamps to 2″ tape and all that good nerdy stuff. Even though to Brother Reade dudes record their own drum samples, I figured all my other producer homies could always use more ( live ) drums. They’re setup to pop in to your logic exs24 sampler, but if you’re an Abletoner like myself, you can just drag and drop your samples straight into the sequencer, into your simpler sampler, or your drum kit. Enjoy!
Click HERE to turn your computer into a Pong. Use the arrow keys up and down, you’ll get it after a few. Also the left Pong bumper kind of stole this color scheme.
First, I get a call that my computer is back from Apple Repair HQ in Texas, I brought it in because it would turn on but screen was pure darkness and unresponsive. Not awesome. The nice “Genius,” told me that it was probably the video card and I had nothing to but it “Couuuuld be the hard-drive,” WHAT! O’ and he informed me that my Apple Care ended three weeks prior, WHAT!! Well he way was off, to our surprise they had to replace the mother board and my super-drive. And for some insane reason, THEY DIDN’T CHARGE ME! WHAT!!! I basically have a brand new computer for free.
Here’s where the above photo comes into the play. Riding this high I decided to check out Penny Lane Records in Pasadena. I proceeded to come up on the one of the, if not the most eclectic batch of records in all of my days. Plus, I didn’t even know the Sebastian Tellier and Suicidal Tendencies records were color vinyl until I got home! WHAT!!!!
Fantastic 1970’s animation from Sally Cruikshank where two ducks and a pet robot go on a date to a theme park where the main attraction is the exploitation of time travel. Need to hear more? All the sound efx are performed by a persons mouth with music by Al Dodge and Robert Armstrong of R. Crumb & his Cheap Suit Serenaders.
