Thanks to all who came out last sunday. Also thanks to our friends at http://www.pieterpasd.com who hosted the lecture and provided the tequila shots with lime, coffee grinds, and sugar; keeping the vibe more ‘energetic’ / less ‘academic’. The ideas presented are a work in progress and an earlier version is delivered for publication, i’ll upload a pdf when I get one. If this sort of thing becomes a habit, I promise to let people know through the site. Thanks again to all.
I’ve been nominated by the good people at mixcloud for a best of 2009 for my Swag Step mix I did back in June. If you were feelin it, please take the 2 seconds to click this link to go vote that would be much appreciated! And if youre a DJ, do yourself a favor sign up to mixcloud, it’s a great place to keep all your mixes for free, really well organized, plus it’s got a strong list of U.K. heavy hitters on board already.

Total heaviness at Fabric tonight. Celebrating the release of “Elevator Music” they’ve booked a very impressive lineup. Todd Edwards, Hudson Mohawke (LIVE), Rustie (LIVE), Jackmaster, Spencer, Nelson, Goodhand + MORE in room one. Room two with 2562, Headhunter, dBridge, Instra:mental, Joy Orbison, Jack Sparrow, and Sigha. Then Untold, Shortstuff, Hot City, xxxy, Mosca, and Vista in Room Three.
Damn.
You can purchase “Elevator Music” on the Fabric site now and get into the madness tonight for free.
My favorite alt-pop-country band of brothers (some by blood and all by PBR,) are starting their residency at The Echo tomorrow night. I feel like a proud older brother, these guys work as hard as any band I’ve ever known and they get better every time I see them play. Should be a packed house and they’re down with the clown!
