I don’t consider myself a superstitious person, however certain things are difficult to completely let go of. Reason being is because I grew up in a very superstitious household, whistling in the house was bad luck, as was opening an umbrella, if a black cat crossed my dad’s path he would always turn around and go a different direction, everyone always knocked on wood, my mom reads her horoscope every day without fail (and will actually print out mine for me to read), we have many books about karma and reincarnation, etc.
Now among all these superstitions, if certain odd or ominous things occurred, it was always the full moon’s fault. Many times I would actually be told not to go out at night when there would be a full moon because no good would come of it.
And speaking of full moons, the year’s biggest full moon was last night. Why the moon has seemed so big lately is because it is at it’s closest point to the Earth (called perigee) and then coinciding with the lunar cycle’s full moon.
It has also been brought up throughout history that women have a connection with the moon because of the way the lunar and menstrual cycle mimic each other.
Particularly more on women and the moon:

I dug up this article from a 06 New York Times Magazine. It’s about déjà Vu and a strange condition called “déjà vécu” where the sufferer claims that “they continuously relieve the past and feel that a significant part of their daily experiences have happened before…In contrast to ordinary déjà vu experiences, in which the sensation instantly seems misplaced, to them, the experiences simply feel like memories”
“When we have déjà vu, we don’t act on it,” Moulin says. “But these people refused to watch television, they stopped reading the newspaper.” The patients were what cognitive scientists call “anosagnosic” — unaware of their condition. They also found situations to be more than just familiar; they believed that they were really recalling them, so much so that they invented memories to justify that belief. They were, to use Tulving’s phrase, time traveling to a reality that had never existed.”

THIS friggin thing looks amazing.

I got an email this morning from One-Handed Music announcing the new two track release from Bullion and just DLed it from his bandcamp page. It’s bangin stuff. “Crazy Over You” is dark and nostalgic with a LA to UK knock and a chopped floating vocal. The title track “Say Goodbye to What” is a sample heavy psychedelic drum rework of some crazy ish.
Always excited to here what’s coming out of that label. The “7 is sold out but you can cop the two tracks for 1GBP.
FACT magazine also has an exclusive mix from Bullion available. “Krautrock, afro-funk, avant-garde electronics and dreamy 70s rock combine in a mix that tells you as much about this West London producer as he probably wants you to know.”
So the innernets have been in a small, yet effective flurry of activity over my newest remix for CFB lablelmates, and Euro buzz buds So Shifty. You can grab my sort of minimal remix which has been described as “hands-in-the-air-ing” from these fine sources, or right here for free!

Thanks to all who came out last sunday. Also thanks to our friends at http://www.pieterpasd.com who hosted the lecture and provided the tequila shots with lime, coffee grinds, and sugar; keeping the vibe more ‘energetic’ / less ‘academic’. The ideas presented are a work in progress and an earlier version is delivered for publication, i’ll upload a pdf when I get one. If this sort of thing becomes a habit, I promise to let people know through the site. Thanks again to all.
