Cinespace tonight we’ve got a set from electroclash legends FISCHERSPOONER, with one of my favorite DJ’s and all around good people Lauren Flax! shes a great house DJ, and produced one of my favorite songs from last year with starbucks’ and silverlake’s favorite SIA. I’ll be opening up in the back room for em probably, expect a packed house and bottles popping! We have an early ( 11pm ) set from Miami buzz-band Awesome New Republic. I had the pleasure of hangin’ in these dudes’ massive studio in Miami with Pase Rock and Bloody Beetroots and watched them make a strange italo disco song. But more importantly, Whitney from the hills/city twittered about them recently, so that probably holds more ground in this town than a good pitchfork review ( and my heart. ) Shit they also did a song with Leighton Meester. Rounding it all out we’ve got super awesome and blowing up blogger Alexi Wasser from IMBOYCRAZY.COM. I’m not sure what shes gonna be doing exactly, but go read her blog and you’ll figure it out.
